9/28/15

We began class again by checking our plants to see if any were dead and if the fertilizer we used last week was affective. I found 2 of my tomato plants and 1 of my collards dead and had to remove them :( The pepper plant that I planted last week was still alive and the cilantro is hanging in there (kind of). Hopefully it survives.
My beans were sprouting nicely and I hope to see them grow even more this week.
After examining my garden, I pulled all of the weeds out from around my plants. Then I replaced my 2 dead tomatoes with eggplants. After my garden was cleaned up, it was time to apply the compost of cow manure. This wasn't my favorite task, mostly because of the idea of cow manure, but I put it around all my plants and I am looking forward to seeing results next week. I then finished by scrubbing my hands with a lot of soap and very hot water.
